Bike Puncture Repair in Brighton & Hove
Flat tyre? Don't push it. We'll come to the bike.
A puncture is the most common thing that goes wrong on any bike, and it’s also the most annoying — because the bike becomes something you have to carry rather than something that carries you.
We come to wherever the bike is and repair it on the spot for £30. No long walk to the shop, no leaving it there for three days, no second trip across town to collect it.
Where we’ll come to
Your home, your workplace, the station, the seafront, wherever it gave up. We cover Brighton, Hove, Portslade, Southwick, Shoreham-by-Sea, Rottingdean, Saltdean and Peacehaven — and we arrive by bike, so traffic doesn’t slow us down.
Can I stop getting punctures?
Mostly, yes. Puncture-resistant tyres will prevent the large majority of flats. The trade-off is weight and a slightly harsher ride, so they’re a better fit for a commuting bike than a fast weekend one. Ask us when we’re there and we’ll tell you honestly whether they’re worth it for the riding you do.
Glass on the road is the usual culprit in Brighton, particularly along the seafront and the main commuting routes. It’s also worth checking your tyre pressure weekly — an under-inflated tyre pinch-flats far more easily than a firm one.
Or learn to fix it yourself
If you’d rather never need us again for this one, Bruce teaches it. Learn how to do it yourself at our regular repair workshops in Kemptown on Saturdays.
Bike For Life has run professional cycle mechanics courses since 2003, and Level 1 covers puncture and tyre repair alongside bike set-up, cleaning and lubrication, wheel and tyre fitting, and basic brake and gear adjustment.
Other things we fix
While we’re with you we can also handle a Light Service at £40 or a full Heavy Service at £70. If the tyre’s flat because the wheel’s out of true, we’ll tell you.
